It was this exposure to diverse cultures and industries that fueled my desire to make a meaningful impact on a global scale. This path naturally led me to my current role as President & CEO of Borderless Consulting, where I help businesses navigate the complexities of cross-border operations.

Can you tell our readers what it is about the work you’re doing that’s disruptive?

What sets our work at Borderless Consulting apart is our relentless pursuit of innovation and our commitment to sustainability. We’re not just providing traditional consulting services; we’re challenging the status quo by integrating technology with environmental concerns. Our focus on sustainability, environmental education, and innovative solutions is changing the way businesses approach their operations, making them more environmentally responsible and socially conscious.

Can you share a story about the funniest mistake you made when you were first starting? Can you tell us what lesson you learned from that?

In my early career, I once scheduled a conference call with a client in a different time zone without properly accounting for the time difference. Needless to say, I was an hour late to the call, and it was quite embarrassing. The lesson I learned was the importance of meticulous planning and attention to detail. Since then, I’ve always double-checked time zones and schedules to ensure such mishaps don’t occur again.

Who have been some of your mentors? Can you share a story about how they made an impact?

I’ve been fortunate to have several mentors who’ve played pivotal roles in my career. One standout mentor encouraged me to embrace challenges as opportunities for growth. They pushed me out of my comfort zone, which ultimately led to some of my most significant career achievements. Their guidance taught me the importance of pushing boundaries and never settling for the status quo.

Is disrupting always good? When do we say the converse, that a system or structure has ‘withstood the test of time’? Can you articulate to our readers when disrupting an industry is positive, and when disrupting an industry is ‘not so positive’? Can you share some examples of what you mean?

Disruption can be positive when it brings about much-needed change, drives innovation, and benefits society. For instance, the advent of the internet disrupted traditional communication and commerce, opening up new opportunities for global connectivity and economic growth.

However, disruption can be negative when it’s driven solely by short-term profit motives without considering the long-term consequences. A prime example would be the financial crisis of 2008, where reckless financial practices disrupted the stability of the global economy, causing widespread harm.

Can you please share 5 ideas one needs to shake up their industry?

Embrace Sustainability: Incorporate sustainable practices into your business model, as we do at Borderless Consulting. It not only aligns with ethical principles but also attracts environmentally conscious customers.

Leverage Technology: Utilize cutting-edge technology to streamline operations and enhance customer experiences. An example is the adoption of mobile banking apps, transforming the traditional banking sector.

Focus on Education: Invest in educating your team and customers about industry trends and best practices. This builds trust and positions you as an industry leader.

Global Expansion: Don’t limit yourself to a single market. Explore opportunities abroad, as I did by working in 47 countries, to diversify revenue streams and gain a broader perspective.

Collaboration: Partner with other organizations to pool resources and expertise. Collaboration can lead to innovative solutions, like the partnerships in the cryptocurrency projects I’ve been involved in.

How are you going to shake things up next?

Our next big endeavor at Borderless Consulting is to further integrate technology and sustainability. We’re actively developing innovative solutions that bridge the gap between environmental responsibility and business success. Keep an eye on us; there’s much more disruption to come!

Do you have a book, podcast, or talk that’s had a deep impact on your thinking? Can you share a story with us? Can you explain why it was so resonant with you?

One book that profoundly impacted me is “Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind” by Yuval Noah Harari. It offers a sweeping perspective on the history of our species, highlighting the power of collective imagination and the importance of adapting to change. It resonated with me because it reinforced the idea that disruption and innovation are inherent to our human journey.

Can you please give us your favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share how that was relevant to you in your life

One of my favorite quotes is “The only constant in life is change.” This has been relevant throughout my career, reminding me that adaptation and embracing change are essential for growth and success. In a rapidly evolving world, being open to change is paramount, but I have several this is another one: “Celebrate change as the guiding star of your journey; for in its ever-shifting constellations, you’ll find the map to your own growth and the compass to your brightest successes.”

If you could inspire a movement that would bring the most amount of good to the most amount of people, what would that be?

I would inspire a global movement focused on sustainable development and environmental conservation. Our world faces pressing challenges, and collectively, we have the power to make positive change. By uniting governments, businesses, and individuals in a shared commitment to sustainability, we can create a better future for all.
